The magic flower: how Monti and Clementine discover the flowers
The little dog opened her eyes on this cold winter day. This morning too, the curious dog was tickled awake by the sun's rays. The sun had already strengthened over the last few weeks and had melted the snow with its powerful rays.
When the little dog ran to the window, she saw the yard in front of her, enveloped in the cold of January and tickled by the ever-increasing sun. And of course: Monti, couldn't wait to get out - like every morning.
Monti: “Wow, what a beautiful day. How cold it might be outside? I’ll go take a look straight away.”
The little dog jumped to the big door and out into the yard. Her paws touched the ground and she could already tell that it was still cold and hard from the previous night. She began to walk around the yard undisturbed.
And then she heard a quiet and cautious “muuuhhhhh”. Monti asked himself: “Oh, who is calling?” “Muuhhh” ... it got a little louder. Monti followed the voice because it also sounded a bit like he was looking for help.
She followed the voice into the large cow stable. And there Monti saw Clementine, the sweet and friendly cow from the farm. Clementine stood at the gate and said to Monti: “Montiiii, you heard me! I am glad to see you."
Monti, replied: “Good morning Clementine, how are you? Why did you call?”
“I slept in the stable that night because it is still so cold and stormy outside at this time of year. But now I'm awake and I see the sun's rays. And as you know… I love warming myself in the sun,” said the friendly cow.
“Oh, Clementine, I know exactly what you mean. I was just taking a lap around the farm and across the fields. Do you want to come with me?"
Clementine's eyes widened with joy: "Oh yes, but I'm here in the stable and how are we supposed to open the big gate?"
The little dog thought for a moment and then said: “I have an idea!”
She ran like lightning to the end of the aisle - straight towards the wheelbarrow. She pushed the girl up to the gate behind which Clementine was standing, jumped in and thus gained height. Now she was able to release the lock with one hand and the gate popped open.
“Muuuhhhuuuuu” cried Clementine and jumped out of the stable into the sun “I love the feeling, thanks Monti”
And so the two of them walked across the yard to the meadows that surrounded the yard. The meadows were still wintry, the grass was still dark and the earth became muddier with every step. The sun warmed the ground and the two of them were soon padding through a large muddy meadow. But that didn't bother them at all.
“Oh stop! “Just look,” the little dog called out to the lovely cow.
And so Monti pointed to the ground, from which small, delicate leaves were twisting and turning. “Look Clementine, these are the harbingers of spring: snowdrops. They slowly sprout from the ground and at the end the small white bell unfolds at the head of the flower. Aren’t they lovely?”
Clementine said: “Lovely. Snowdrops are very special flowers. They usually bloom at the beginning of February - as soon as they feel the very first rays of sunshine. If it gets frosty again, you can simply close your flowers and only open them again when the sun shines again. You, Monti, I love the sun's rays as much as I love the snowdrops... do you think my name should be Snowdrop?"
Monti laughed and said: “hahah dear Clementine, I think your name is good the way it is. But we can ask the farm family if they would carve a snowdrop into the wood of your gate. That way you would always have the snowdrop around you when you are in the stable.”
Clementine replied: “That’s a great idea. So we do it!"
And so this day ended full of fun and friendship on the meadows in front of the farm.
